THE List

I've tried many, but these take the cake.

This Lil Piggy

Pulled pork, fried plantain, egg, jack cheese, avocado, and Racer sauce. Sweet, salty, and way too large to eat in one sitting.

Chorizo Burrito

Chorizo and chopped egg, hand-wrapped. A little hard to track down, which is half the fun.

Cafe on Lumpkin

While the Cafe on Lumpkin has closed, it will always be remembered as the burrito that made me choose UGA.

Why These Three?

The fried plantain is what sets it apart. It adds a sweet crunch next to the pulled pork, and the avocado and Racer sauce tie it all together. Even the grilled cheese on the outside is a bonus. It's an explosion of flavor I haven't found anywhere else. But it's my Sunday favorite for another reason: my sister introduced me to it before she graduated and left Athens. Every bite reminds me of her and makes my day that much better.

Chopped chorizo and egg, with everything cut small enough that you never feel like you're biting off more than you can chew. The egg and meat work together perfectly, so every bite is just as good as the last. I first tried it with my sister on a Sunday at the Bishop Park farmers market, and it's been tied to that morning ever since.

This burrito helped me choose UGA. The morning after my tour, I was torn between Georgia and another school, so I tried it with my mom, and it blew me away. It became a staple of my freshman year, a taste of that fall morning whenever I missed home, and I shared it with so many friends. The cafe may be gone, but it's sadder to think future UGA students will never know what this burrito tasted like.
